The “Electrical Estimator’s Manual” is written and designed by the author William F. Penn, and published by Gulf Publishing Company, Houston, Texas. The manual includes instructional and informative methods developed for the individual who would like to add estimating of electrical construction projects to their skill set.

Electrical contractors are constantly searching for qualified, experienced estimators as well as junior estimators for their companies. It is understood that estimating is the art of translating blueprints, scopes of work, pre-bid field inspections and verbal requests for proposals into costs of materials and labor required to produce a complete electrical installation and a profit margin.

Electrical workers, apprentices, contractors, draftspersons, engineers, architects, material handlers, salespeople and instructors that teach electrical contracting courses can benefit by studying and applying the information in this manual.

Many professional estimator's guides are like door stops, filled with cumbersome and dreaded "refer to page number x" and "see note y." They are not user friendly or easily referenced. This manual is the optimal choice when deciding which reference material to use.
